2022 SA Branch Pioneer Lecture & AGM

Join us for the 2022 AGM and Pioneer Lecture honouring Dr. Pichu Rengasamy. The Pioneer Lecture will be given by Dr. Ehsan Tavakkoli

Dr. Ehsan Tavakkoli (Senior Research Scientist at NSW DPI) will present the lecture outlining the pioneering contributions of Dr Rengasamy to Soil Science. As per tradition, Dr. Rengasamy will give a ‘right of reply’ at the end of Dr Tavakkoli’s lecture.

Join us for the 2022 SA Branch AGM from 3-4 pm on Wednesday 7th of December.

Following the AGM, the SA Branch will hold the 2022 Pioneer Lecture from 4-5 pm. The Pioneer Lecture honours an individual who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of Soil Science. The lecture will be followed by a social and networking event on the lawns outside Charles Hawker from 5-7 pm.

This year the SA Branch of Soil Science Australia is pleased to announce Dr. Pichu Rengasamy is the recipient of the 2022 Pioneer Lecture.

The 2022 Speakers

Dr Rengasamy served the field of Soil Science in Australia with exceptional distinction since 1975 and continues to be actively involved in Soil Science research. His expertise in Soil Science can be broadly described as ‘chemical physics of soil’ with most of his research being on the effects of soil components and their chemical interactions on soil structure and physical properties, and as a consequence on crop production. Dr Rengasamy has devoted his entire career to Soil Science advancement nationally and worldwide.

Dr. Ehsan Tavakkoli (Team Leader & Senior Research Scientist at NSW Department of Primary Industries) will present the lecture outlining the pioneering contribution of Dr Rengasamy to Soil Science. As per tradition, Dr. Rengasamy will give a ‘right of reply’ at the end of Dr. Tavakkoli’s lecture.
