Andic properties
Soils with andic properties occupy very limited areas in Australia, where there have been recent volcanic eruptions. This is mainly around Mt Gambier and Mt Schank in south-east South Australia (Isbell et al. 1997), also small areas in south-western Victoria.

Soil material with andic properties have formed in ash (dark grey material) or other deposits ejected from volcanoes (volcanic bomb as pale grey rock embedded in the ash material)
