Today, more than ever, customers and employers are looking for evidence of quality and expertise when they engage a consultant, contractor or employee.
Using seals and post-nominals is a simple way for individuals to gain recognition of their memberships, qualifications, experience and accreditations, and differentiate themselves in the market.
If you have made an investment in your accreditation it makes good sense to promote the achievement and raise awareness of your commitment to upholding the standards of your accreditation(s).
When granted accreditation you will receive the following items to help you market your accreditation status:
- Accreditation certificate as a PDF
- Personalised accreditation seal in PNG format
- Listing in the ‘Find a Soil Professional’ directory on the Soil Science Australia website.
Using post-nominals #
Once you become accredited you can use the appropriate post-nominal as shown in the table below. This involves adding the letters after your name e.g. First name Surname, post-nominal, or First name Surname (post-nominal). We encourage you to add post-nominals to your business card, LinkedIn, academic profile, staff profile and in other professional profiles. If you become non-financial you cannot use the post-nominals until this matter has been rectified.

Using seals #
- We encourage you to add the seal to your email signature, business cards and other appropriate digital and print material, on conference presentation, email marketing and on social media, such as your LinkedIn profile.
- By using a Soil Science Australia accreditation seal, you agree to comply with the following rules:
- The seals may only be used by an individual accredited by Soil Science Australia who has current accreditation status. You receive accreditation for a period of one year. If you do not reapply and receive re-accreditation within that period, or if accreditation is withdrawn for any other reason, you must cease using the seal.
- You acknowledge that the seal is a certification mark owned by Soil Science Australia.
- You may not alter or re-create the seal in any manner.
- The seal must be used as-is and you may not incorporate any other wording or designs into the seal. However, your own trademark or logo may appear on the marketing material in which the seal appears.
- You may not display the seal in any way that disparages Soil Science Australia or its products or services.
- If the seal is posted on a website that represents the accredited individual, it must have an active link to the Soil Science Australia home page.
- The seal may be used on marketing material relating to the accredited individual including letterhead, business cards, website, social media and printed materials referencing the individual’s accredited status.
- Soil Science Australia reserves the right to terminate or modify permission to display the seal at any time.
- Soil Science Australia reserves the right to act against any user who fails to conform to these policies, infringes any Soil Science Australia intellectual property or other rights.
