In this GRDC podcast, Dan Fay (Stirlings to Coast Farmers) describes trials aimed at improving the effectiveness of claying on poor gravel soils in Albany Port zone in southern Western Australia. Claying is a technique that’s proven successful on non-wetting sandy soils but is less used on gravel soil. This podcast discusses the challenges, benefits and long-term amelioration that can be achieved. Grower Ben Webb shares his experiences with the trials on forest gravel soils on his property.
