Measuring the impact of organic soil ameliorants – WA (Podcast)
In this GRDC podcasts, Richard Bell (Murdoch University) and Veronic Crouch (Corrigin Farm Improvement Group) discuss the findings of a 3-year on-farm project investigating the effects of incorporating readily available organic-soil ameliorants to boost productivity of sandy soils in medium to high rainfall zones of Western Australia’s wheatbelt. The experiments, using on-farm organic ameliorants such as hay, stubble straw, and manure, monitored effects of amelioration on crop growth and yield with results varying across trial sites. It also mentions the use of claying and ripping to improve soil quality. This podcast is available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. The result will be relevant to other regions with similar conditions (20 December 2023) [12:45]. #
This is a carefully curated database of important soil resources. The data base is not exhaustive but rather a library of the resources we believe are the most useful for the audience. Each resource has been added after careful consideration against our selection criteria, including but not limited to its scientific validity, accessibility, and readability. The library generally does not include most academic research papers but may include some open-source papers written in accessible English.
