Opportunities and practices for soil carbon management in the South West Slopes of NSW (Video)
This webinar video, hosted by the Holbrook Landcare Network and the Soil CRC, focuses carbon farming on the soils of South West Slopes of NSW. It is presented by Dr Cassandra Schefe (AgriSci) and Dr Karl Andersson (NSW DPIRD). This webinar explains the soil carbon levels that can be expected in this region, the factors that influence soil carbon levels and the management practices that can increase soil carbon levels. It provides an overview of farming systems in the region and the related soil type variability, how soil carbon is made, factors that affect potential soil carbon values and how to achieve carbon success. It focuses on cropping systems and mixed farming and grazing systems with some final comments about carbon credits. While the webinar is tailored to soils in south west NSW, it is also relevant to to other regions with similar rainfall and soil constraints (2024)[1:06].#
This is a carefully curated database of important soil resources. The data base is not exhaustive but rather a library of the resources we believe are the most useful for the audience. Each resource has been added after careful consideration against our selection criteria, including but not limited to its scientific validity, accessibility, and readability. The library generally does not include most academic research papers but may include some open-source papers written in accessible English.
